Thread: DVD questions.

  1. #1
Man!, here I am after what seems like a couple hours of homework . . . . I gotta ask for some help here. Can I flash any DVD player's rom to unlock the region protection? Loss of quality or anything involved? I did look but could find nothing solid. Can someone point me to some info specifically on that.

Also, over the last couple weeks I have learned to rip entire DivX movies on a couple discs. It's useful in some ways, but the problem is I can't watch them on my TV. Could I get some sort of Video out from my PC to the TV to get it to work that way? Or do I have to go the VCD route. Let's dialouge here, heh. Which brings me to my last point, Anyone have a tried and tested DVD player, like the Pioneer DV333, or simular that plays anykind of CD media. i.e Verbatum CD-rs, or at the very leaste CD-rw. I have a Toshiba SD-2109 to trade for one. It says it can play VCD and CD media but I haven't gotten it to work. Ideas?

    Sorry to rant

Your Toshiba will play VCD's and regualr CD's but not ones that you have created, have to be true stamps. As for the other questions, i have not a clue. Any Dual laser player will play regular burned disc's including your CDR VCD's. The pioneers are dual laser units.
