Thread: one pixel is broken in my notebook LCD monitor

  1. #1
I have a Dell inspiron 4000 notebook computer. I found there was one tiny red spot on my screen yesterday. I called tech support today and I was told that this is because one of the pixel is not functioning. Dell people said that they wouldn't do anything unless there are more than 10 pixel are broken because this the industry standard. Does anybody know how to fix this problem. Because it is kind of annoying. Every time I start up my computer, I have to sesearch for that tiny spot and look at it for a while. I feel bad about that. Thanks a lot.

    Not much you can do...

Sorry to say this, but there's not much you can do other than try to create more dead pixels so Dell will replace your screen. There is no sure fire way to create dead pixels though. If you actually break the screen, then you're really screwed as that won't be covered under warranty.

Until you get more dead pixels, you have to just suck it up and live with a dead pixel.

its pretty normal to have one or two non functioning pixels sometimes they're always on and other times they're always off.

if you look hard enough at most monitors (not just lcd screens) you'll find a broken pixel.

i had to return like 4 monitors before i got one without anything wrong with it.
