Looking for a single CD Player. I want to spend under $400. Looking at these companies:

    *AMC CD8b
    *Marantz
    *Nad
    *Rotel
    *Arcam Alpha 7SE
    *AH! Njoe Tjoeb 4000

I need digital ouputs and thats about it. Wanting something with a lil' neutral sound but with clarity.

I always liked this... and it has Digital Coax out and HDCD decoder. http://www.harmankardon.com/product....prod=FL%208380

    Suggested retail: $299

Or, if you want to spend a little more, you can get one with HDCD and MP3 decoders, AND it acts as a CD-R. Pretty slick huh. I've been eyeing this one for a while at my local store... http://www.harmankardon.com/product_...&prod=CDR%2030

Suggested Retail: $699, although around here its only $550, and I'm sure you could find it cheaper on the net somewhere.

I found the CDR30 for as low as $446 through a quick search on My Simon.

Thanks irish, but I don't want a changer, I want a single cd player, for better quality. As much as I love my hk reciever, the cd players are plagued with skipping problems and motor problems.

Yeah, but I'm not looking for a recorder drive since I do have a burner and I'm not willing to pay more for those "audio cd-r."
