astronomy project: tracking sun movement

has anyone had to do this project? it involves either sketching or taking the sun's picture at sunrise or sunset. i am opting to do the sketch. i wanna fake some observations that i missed while i was on vacation. can anyone here tell me how far the sun moves on a daily basis (visually) and in what direction? thanks! i only need it to show that i started the project. i will do the observations for the rest of the period....really! thanks loads in advance

I'd try some astronomy sites or call your local TV meteorologists. I've called several over the years and they've always been very helpful.
