Dazzle DVC II and sync problems

I just got the Dazzle DVC II and run it with a PII 450 PC. For some reason the audio and the video won't sync properly. It starts out barely noticable but by the end of a 1 1/2 hour movie, it's grown to about 1/2 sec. It starts to look like a badly dubbed kung fu flick. I spoke to tech support and I've upgraded to their latest versions that should correct it. That's why I'm posting here now. (didn't work) I think it may have to do with the fact that they recommend a 400Mhz machine and I'm only running 450. Any thoughts?

Try lowering the bitrate of the video or lower the quality of audio. Also turn off everything else running on your computer while capturing. And finally, use scsi for the hard drive.

Everything is off. I even boosted the mem to 256M. I really can't drop the rates too much since it has to fall into a specific setting for VCDs and SVCDs. The SCSI was going to be my next test. Thanks.

I'm not too familiar with Dazzle anymore. . . but I'm assuming that its a pci slot right? Not a usb. If it is usb then thats your problem, too slow. There might also be an option in the software somewhere for capture to capture the audio and video separately and at the end it will process the sound and video together. It takes a little time to process the clip but worth it for the synchronization.

Yeah, the Dazzle II goes through a PCI card. I also tried the SCSI idea last night. A little better, but still the same thing. What you are talking about is the post processing feature that the Dazzle I used to have, which worked great for me, but in Dazzle's infinite wisdom, removed for Dazzle II. Strange, they didn't bother removing the button, just greyed out. Their TS told me it wasn't supported anymore, it should work fine without it! @#$%&%. Please excuse the profanity. The next step is to try a faster CPU. I really didn't want to buy a new machine just to make videos!

Damn, that sucks big donkey cajones. A faster processor may help it out, but only so much. Try defraggin your hard drive if you haven't yet but I'm sure you have.
