MONKEYS RULE! :monkey:
Bunch of caveats:
1. This is a Grade C monitor:
2. This is heavy and EXPENSIVE to ship -Grade C - Monitor Works Recommended for Test Bench - Has Major Cosmetic Blemishes,
examples of which are (but not limited to):
Major Scratches in case
Major scratches in screen
Cracked Case
Picture Color is Off
Major imperfections in the AGAS (Anti-Glare, Anti-Static) Coating
Lots of Dead Pixels (4 or more)
For The Gateway Destination 36-Inch:
Can Also Include "Blurrier Then Normal" Screen (needs to be viewed
at about 10-feet away, normal for Destination is about 6-feet)
etc.
3. The resolution is only 800x600The REAL GEEKS MONSTER Monitor! So BIG it takes it's own pallet! So Big, that after buying it, you need to call us for shipping rates and information (No, UPS will NOT deliver it -- IT'S JUST WAY TOO BIG!!!)
I think you would be better off with a new TV of the same size (I got my RCA for about that price 1.25 years ago and it had a lot more features). Also, Circuit City (which price matched Frys) offered free delivery/setup
I did not even know that they made 36 inch screens! That is just HUGE!
How much do normal screens like this cost? Anyone know?

Actually, it is a television.
If you visit the page, you'll see that it's a refurbished Gateway Destination tv/monitor. The Destination was (is?) Gateway's line of PC/TV hybrids.
36 inches...is way too big! I couldn't handle that, and I like em' big. I have a small desk!
haha i love the shipping description!

I have the 29" Princeton Arcadia AV which is similar to the destination. It is very cool and a far cry from a TV. It depends on what you are using it for. I have my monitor in my living room where it acts as the heart of my entertainment center. Sure I could of got a huge television for the price I paid for the monitor (about $900) but TV-out is much different than being able to use the VGA cable. I use it for web surfing - text is easily readable, as well as a jukebox, for TV via All-In-Wonder and TiVo, and DVD player, SB Live, surround sound, and it is VERY cool for games. It is limited to 800x600 but has full color depth. Refresh is low but flicker is not noticeable. It isn't a good graphic design monitor but for being able to watch movies and surf the web via cable modem it is quite awesome! It does not have a tuner or coax input.
I probably wouldn't buy the Gateway machine because of all the problems it may have as a Grade "C"
But if this monitor works and the colors are good, it is a great deal. Just know what it is good for. It is likely terrible for graphics manipulation, mediocre for text reading and word processing. But for watching DVD, web surfing, cable TV, game play from the couch, it may be a great option.

just go buy a friggen video projector, with either an s-video in, or a regular s-vga in on it.... You'll get over a 10' (uhuh, 10 foot!) screen with it - great for CS/Q3 or playing the new N64 BOND game - on the 4-screen split (for 4 player), each players screen is bigger than a regular TV![]()
Yeah, but everyone's forgetting that this thing is only 279 bucks. Might be worth it for that cheap.
Meatwad make the moneys SEE!
Meatwad get the honeys G!
plus probably another $100+ for shipping and remember, they are badly damaged (see Grade C above)
