    Question

    Speaker Stands are expensive

Does anyone Know any "inexpensive" Speaker Stand solutions?
Why are they trying to jack a brother so blatantly
for at least sixty bucks a pair for lousy speaker stands.
I paid much less for the surround sound speakers.

    Two options:

    A) Buy some wire and hang the biatches from the ceiling.

    B) Buy some plywood, dowel rods, and a hole saw. Use said hole saw to cut a hole in said plywood and the bottom of said speakers. Insert dowel rod into plywood and speaker. Strategically place. Voila!

We just bought those wood barstools from Wal-Mart, very
sturdy and I think they were $20 each.

My whole entertainment center is standing on bricks and plywood. When arranged neatly, a minimalist solution such as that will probably look better than most cheesy speaker stands or poorly constructed home-made wooden stands (or even bar stools..hehe)...

I just use cheapo Target/Home Depot 11 dollar shelves. They are just the right height, and as a bonus hold DVD's well.

Well, most houses are built out of bricks and plywood, so somehow there is a way to make that look good. Maybe some vinyl siding or a fresh coat of paint will do the trick? I detect that another trip to Home Depot is in order...
