Thread: Suckage: People bailing out on "moving day"

  1. #1
Man, this friend of mine is a total prick. = ) On two occasions over the last 3 years I have helped him move his crap.

Now it's my turn this week and he gives me the lamest excuse.

He has some hot 18 year old he met over the internet coming to his house this weekend. He's 25. LOL sneaky bastard.

He's exact words were, " Now come on Dave, you know daddy hasn't seen his girl in a month and a half."
He claims he has to keep her entertained and moving me wouldn't be cool with her. What a joke!

It's an issue of integrity. That SOB had the STEEPEST set of stairs to move his furnature down at his last house. They were about a 75 degreee angle, I sh** you not = )

And where's this girl going to be in a couple weeks from now when he needs something from me or even wants to hang out cause he's got nothing to do? ha!

    Then we'll see. . . oh, we'll see . . .

    Question

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder about this one.......

It sounds like he might be trying to bail. Then again, you usually use the "Lunch with Parents," "Shopping with girlfriend," "Mowing the Yard," etc. excuse for something like that. If it's a bluff, I gotta give the guy credit. He's got balls.

But AWM has it right. It is an issue of integrity. That guy definitely should help you out, especially with the way you describe the place you helped him move out of.

I've helped my best friend move twice in the past two years. He's supposed to be helping me move out in 3 weeks. If he doesn't show, it will be ugly.

    Hey, I'm the drummer.

Make sure he knows that next time he moves, he's on his own. And the next time too. Not is it only integrity but he's breaking Man Rule #6. Since there are ladies viewing these threads I won't repeat it, but you know what I mean. If not, refer to the manual and I'll see you at the meeting!
