Hi everyone. OD is new in our town, and the manager was happy to give me the following deals. (this is a retail store only kind of thing)
KDS 19" VS-190 monitor, sku #213-691, 329.99, AND a $50.00 mail in rebate: final price, 279.99
18" viewable
30-95 Khz
1600 x 1200 @ 75 kHz
.27 dot pitch
10 user programmable functions
You can also use that rebate on the 213-651, a 21" 19.9" viewable VS-21E
it has a .25 dot pitch. It is "marked down" to 699.99 (gag) before the rebate.
If you're looking for a cheap 19" monitor, i think this is the cheapest I have seen on one.

I don't know much about monitors but haven't heard all that much good news about KDS ones. You might as well add a few bucks and get a 19" viewsonic at Onvia.com I got the E790B viewsonic and that was good enough for me. It looks like a small TV which is pretty cool. $325 after coupon plus free shipping and it only took 2 days. You can get the white color one for less but I liked the black one. Just my opinion

Sams Club has the CTX pl-9 for 299.
Just bought it, but seems no problems yet. (knock on wood)

Fiercedaddy that's a good price, but Onvia.com has the KDS VS-195E for $278 minus the $25 coupon (I forget what the number is, sorry), making it $253 with free shipping I believe. In general, Onvia's a great place to get computer parts.

We have about 40 KDS 17" monitors and 12 19" KDS monitors at my work. and in the past 6 months, we've had to send in 4 17" ones and 2 19" for repairs (all died completely).
I'd avoid KDS..

Yup, their non-trinitron tube monitors have been problematic. I have a friend who had to send a 17" back too.

kds sucks... do not buy... unless you're super rich and like throwing away money...

Be sure you know what you're buying. I took a look at some of the KDS monitors at my local Office Depot and was not impressed. The text and color wasn't anywhere near the quality as my older Trinitron 19". In fact, none of the KDS monitors looked as good as the 17" Sony they had on display there either.
Remember your eyes are valuable, don't skimp out on them.
