I'm trying to decide what dvd player to get, and I'm just curious what people have and what brand would they recommend... (also good deals if possible)

The dvd's my friends have is the creative dvd which I don't like at all because first its pretty expensive and 2nd I don't think it allows you to play other zones dvd's not certain though. My other friend has a 10x afrey dvd kinda like pioneers dvd those I think are decent but not the greatest. I am getting a scsi dvd player if u look in the other forum posted by me it says which dvd I'll probably be getting that dvd only costs about 110 or so but it's only 6x U can find that price on www.pricewatch.com and look for scsi dvd-rom. Hopefully that helps.

i have a toshiba 1200 that i got for $120 at mobshop with a coupon when it got to the lowest price possible. keep an eye out for a coupon on any site similar to mobshop and you can get a great deal. i'm stoked on the toshiba, not top of the line, but it works great, probably the best i've seen for it's price range.

I've got a Sony DVP-S500D. It works real well and I've had no problems. This model has been replaced by the 530 and 550Ds now.

I have been using an Onkyo DVD player for about a year now. It doesn't have all the options to play other zones or mp3's, but it has component out and two digital outputs for sound. I like it a lot.

I have a Toshiba 2109...works great with my TV. The TV that you have makes a big difference in the quality of the experience you get with any DVD player. I highly recommend getting a new TV go to with the new DVD if you have smaller than a 20".

Pioneer 525. Best damned DVD player for me. (not to mention #1 in many top 10/100 charts, including the 'great' www.cnet.com top 100 list).
