    my excel likes to close by itself in like 10 seconds after i open it or open a file with it... any suggestions?

    Use the MS Office installer, and either repair your Excel files, install all of the Excel files, or completely remove Excel and reinstall it.

    Re-run the Office 2k setup. You'll have a Repair option. See if this helps.
