Some posts in this thread got me thinking. If I had had a vehicle camera when I was rear ended (after stopping) and forced into the car in front of me, I might have been able to show the video to the cop who decided to ticket me because I had more damage to my front end than my rear end so I "must have run into the guy in front of me before the lady hit me from behind". (At least I got the ticket dismissed by showing up in court, and got 100% of my deductible back for telling the subrogation investigators what happened). Anyway, I recently saw a deal to pick up one of these (the DVR-530) for $45 shipped, so I figured I'd give it a try. Motion activated, records 3 or 5 minute segments (and will overwrite the oldest if the memory is filled - with a 8GB SDHD card it shows about 2.25 hours of recording time in 640x480 mode). Videos are date/time stamped which should help if I ever need to "prove" anything.
