    From CNN -

"World Wrestling Federation Entertainment and NBC are discontinuing their professional football league, the XFL, after only a year of operation.

"The numbers actually didn't play out for us," said Vince McMahon, WWFE chairman, in a conference call Thursday. "Despite where our heart was ... we just couldn't make it work from a financial standpoint."

Jeez. I'm shocked. No, really. WWF fans not having a big enough attention span to watch football. I for one refuse to believe it.

I'm glad its dead. The football was horrendous. The stupid publicity stunts were crap and putting what the hell ever on the back of your jersey is just stupid. "He Hate Me" Come on. Give me a break. I'd much rather watch pee-wee football and see some actual football going on.

That's gotta suck if you're the XFL champs. A lot of people busted their asses for the better part of a year and are now being told it's all crap. XFL football is just depressing on so many levels.

It sucks more if you were in line to be the mascot next year and it was like your total dream and now it is ripped from you and you have to go back to your sucky life

Its too bad, really. The XFL games were fun to go to. It could have worked on a lower budget if they were satisfied with pulling in crowds to the stadium. But they wanted TV money. That wasn't going to happen playing on Saturday night.

It might not have been the greatest football, but it beat college. I just don't understand the antipathetic, almost angry statements made by people against it. Like they were personally offended by it or something. Ridiculous people just want to piss and moan about something, I guess. I thought it was all in good fun.

I never saw a full game of it, but it wasn't that great. Maybe they needed more advertising to get more viewers. The only way I ever heard anything about the XFL was on Jay Leno.
