Thread: ELSA Gladiac 920

Anyone have an opinion on the ELSA Gladiac 920? I saw a review saying the only flaw was that it was over £400 but it is being released in a few days at just under £300. I have seen various reviews of Geforce 3, with a lot of conflicting information, the most worrying suggesting that a Geforce 2 may be the better buy. I currently have a Voodoo 3 3000, so do you think I should get a Geforce 2 or 3?

Go for the 3 - either way you're looking at a nice performance boost.... as far as the Gladiac vs. other cards... just go with what's the least expensive brand name card you can find... People rave about the Visiontek, but I had nothing but problems with it... ended up with a Leadtek and it's stable, functional, and has more features than I'll need (i.e. 1024x768 TV-out with future driver upgrade, DVI output)....

    Question

The only advantage of the ELSA Gladiac 920 over other GeForce 3 videocards is that it comes with an enhanced copy of Giants: Citizen Kabuto.

The GeForce 2 has been out for a while and has nice, stable optimized drivers.

Being a new product GeForce 3 drivers need work. The GeForce 3 will be more future proof since its DirectX 8 compliant.

In the next couple weeks as more GeForce 3 products come out in full force the price will drop a bit more. During the fall faster, more feature rich videocards will be released.

It really depends on you Chris7530. Do you want to pay big bucks for the best card available or buy a card that still performs well? Take a look at your expectations and needs then decide.
