http://www.staples.com has this internal drive for $99.95 with a $20 rebate. Use the coupon code 91464 or 91412 to get $25 off of $100. I ordered one and it went through. I hope they don't EMail me later and tell me it's not available.

You'll have to add something to get it over $100, at least I did. My suggestion: some jewel cases. SKU 390178, they are $11, but $5 gets knocked off instantly when you buy them. Although that special expires today.
This deal is ok, but you're missing the best part, I think. They also have a deal where you get a $100 rebate on a $100 D-Link MP3 player with the purchase on any CDRW.
I think the $25 coupons are expired, but there are 20s around. The 9150s are out of stock online presently, but are still in some of the B&Ms. Do 2 orders (total $200), use 2 coupons (minus 40) and get 2 rebates (minus 120) and you got an 8X CDRW and an MP3 player for $40. This I like.
The $100 D-Link rebate only requires a copy of the CDRW UPC.
And if you go into a B&M store, make sure to check for the Iomega 12X with Burnproof for $99.90. There are some still around, I got one Saturday.

Where do you get the rebate for the D-Link MP3 player?
Good find, by the way!
You guys try adding some of Apex's paperclips to get you over the mark:
World Brand Paperclips, 100 box (to get you over the $200 or $100 mark) for $0.16. PAPERCLIPS
Item # ACC72380
Dev
Ethernet (n): Something used to catch the Etherbunny.
For the $100 coupon look under "Staples". I think its also under DLink.
Thought I would pass along an interesting story. I had ordered a 9150 from staples.com this weekend, and this morning got an email saying they were out of stock. So I called the closest B&M and the guy said "no, we had some but these people came in and bought all 6 of them this morning". So I called another store, they had some so I asked them to hold one for me. I went to pick it up tonite, and the guy said that " group of asian people had been cleaning out all the stores" and that they had somehow "got access to a $40 off $100 coupon". Fortunately they had set mine aside.
Please don't flame me, I have nothing against "asian people", thats just what the guy said.
There is a challenge here, what is the 40 off 100 coupon code that these guys came up with. It apparently works.

Yeah, it kinda irks me. I bought the thing online(at $80 with the coupon) a couple days ago, and the site said that the status was available within 1 day or soemthing like that. Then today they told me it was out of stock via email, so I called the local staples and asked them if they had them in. They said no, but that they would get more tomorrow. So I called national staples and told them about the order, and the fact that the local staples was getting them in tomorrow. I offered to go pick the darn thing up from the store if they would give me the $20 off internet coupon onsite. They said since it was an internet coupon, they couldn't do that. I mean, it is their fault that the system was screwed up and told me that it was available, and I'm saving them the cost associated with driving the package to my house(shipping would have been free for the order), and the least they can do is give me the price that they offer. I guess I shouldn't complain though since it is a special and it isn't exactly their responsibility to remain in stock, i should be appreciative that they offered the special.
Man I want a $40 off coupon! I shop like crazy too at staples.

It came today. What a deal!
Twiggypop - I got the same email you got. I contacted Staples and they are giving me the same runaround. If they didn't have the product they shouldn't allow people to successfully place the order. Sucks!
Ditto for me.
and now it is off their website all together.
Possible consolation prize for you guys. I was checking local stores for the 12x Iomega with burnproof for $99.90, the last store I called he sez "no we haven't got it, it sez available by delivery only". So I called the Staples phone order line and the sweetheart I talked to says "yes, we can get that, it comes from a different warehouse...."
No problem taking a $20 coupon after adding packing tape.
This doesn't have the $20 rebate the HP does, but its a 12x burnproof and should still qualify for the D-Link MP3 player deal. Hope it comes thru for me, and for you too if you give it a try.
The sku for this number is 437492. Have at it dogs.

Thank ye. Im off to call them now.
Hehe, it worked. The CS guy actually commented something about it being a pretty good deal and he might consider getting one himself. Thanks again!

The D-Links' are out of stock. Somehow it will let you order them, but will not show up when it is processed. Checking with the 800 number also confirms that it is out of stock.
Damn my luck...
had the D-link in my cart two days ago and was thinking about buying it on the chance the CDRW drive came back in stock. But the Iomega would have work just as well, and now they are out of the MP3 player. ARG....
Oh, well...such is my luck. :-/

Well, personally - i don't terribly care about the mp3 player, the cd burner is a good deal by itself. Im going for the rio volt anyway (riovolt.com), it allows playlists, id3 tag handling, WMA files, 15 hours on battery b/c it loads the entire song into memory then stops spinning the cd, etc. d-link is a kids toy compared. any good deals on the rio volt?

Chinnboy, you rule!! That's no consolation prize either! I was able to use one of those new $25 off coupons, and got the 12x burner, plus a CDR for $80 shipped. That's one heck of a deal! Now if I could just get that Dlink player...
Hey the Volt is a great player no doubt, but it isn't free, as the D-link would be...and free is free. :-)

DUDE!
is this JUST my luck or what?!?!
I call up a CSR and give her the damn item #... she tells me that it isn't in that wherehouse..
so I ask 'can you search for California, to see if it comes up?' she says 'NO, i need specific zip codes, because I can't do anything if I don't have the zip code. I see there are some in cinncinati."
SO i ask her 'how can you know that, if i didn't give you their zip code?'
all the BITCH said was 'i'm sorry sir, I can't help you!'
GOD DAMN!
i'm going to try calling again.. i WANT THIS SUCKER!
Can you believe I called back and the same bitch answered the phone!?
after about 3 tries, i FINALLY got another CSR. and this chick was VERY friendly and helpful. She found me a drive close by, and shipped it out to me $81.96 shipped with a 12x CD... WOO HOOO!!
i'm happy now!

Good perseverance stupidzbu, this is a great deal to get in on. Has anyone tried calling and doing the same thing for the DLink MP3 player? Maybe I'll resort to trying and finding one at a store close by. I won't get to use a coupon, but at least it's still free.

i can't find the drive online... on the staples page...
i went to the iomega page.. and found only 3 models for internal drives
8X Write/4X ReWrite/32X Max Read
12X Write/10X ReWrite/32X Max Read BURNPROOF
16X Write/10X ReWrite/40X Max Read BURNPROOF
THe one staples sells comes up as:
ZIP CD INTERNAL 12X4X
what drive would this then be?!
are you guys SURE this is burnproof...
I have one right in front of me. It says BurnProof right on the box as well as on the drive's label. It is a 12x4x32x, model #ZipCD1536int. This I got at a B&M store. Poking around, I find this is a Sanyo drive. Some of the 12x10x32x iomegas are Plextors.

I tried to order the IOMEGA 12x BP-CDRW thru 1-800-staples. The CDR asked for my zipcode - so i gave her a zip code from CA. I asked her to look for the drive with an SKU#437492. She returned saying that was the IOMEGA cdrw with the model number as ZipCD31236 and it costs $99.
Is this the right drive that everyone is mentioning in this thread - the one with burn proof?
I saw the thread for 25 off 100 coupons. Does someone have a better coupon to use ? The CSR's sometimes ask "where did u get the coupon from" - what do u answer for that?
thnx in advance
Thnx for the heads up Chinnboy, the Iomega turned out to be a better deal at 80 bux (w/ coupon) with burnproof + no rebate hassles. Hardly a consolation prize...
Now if we could get the d-link in stock...

Oh yeah, just found a Dlink MP3 player at a store close by! I'm going to pick it up in a little bit. From what I've found out, there are no more players in any warehouse in the US, but a couple of stores still have them. Now of course you can't use the coupon, but hey, it's still free after rebate and you can't beat that. An Mp3 player, and a 12x burner for $80. My advice is to call around and try to find the remaining players.
Found a D-Link MP3 at the 1st B&M I checked so I am even happier... can't beat free.

Just so you know, the d-link really sucks. I can store about 5-6 songs on it, it gives me also sorts of crap errors when trying to transfer. The transfer interface is very annoying, the thing keeps getting locked up in the "recording" mode and i have to reset it. It just sucks in general.
yeh, I read that it's a lousy unit, too.
I am new to gotapex, and saw this therad. I am trying to find this Iomega drive with burnproof on staples.com, but I cant find it. Does anyone have a link?
Some other things, where do i find the rebate (20 off 100), and is it worth finding this d-link player? i would love to find the 12x burner for 80 bucks though
any help? thanks in advance
