I got a card in the mail a few weeks ago that said you can get 10% off if you use something like "Welcomeback" or "Welcome Back" (I don't remember specifically). I'm pretty sure it was the first one. It was only for the first 5000 users or something. *shrug* good luck.

P.S. I bought my Rio 500 from them about a month ago -- it's ****ing awesome. Just buy some rechargable batteries for it b/c it's a real hog. I bought the $35 charger w/ 4 AAs from www.batteryville.com and it has proven super useful. Just realize that the battery indicator isn't always accurate. Mine has been at "one notch" of battery for about 2 weeks but it has lasted for a good few hours of listening.

If you love purchasing Audible Audio Books.
Audible.com is selling the Rio 500 for $169.99. The catch is they want you to purchase 9.95 of content for 1 year. If you are a book lover this is good for you.

Sorry, this is not a really good deal.

Rio 5000 sucks. Spending that much money for that little ram is not worth it. I would rather buy the mp3 discman of half the price and its awesome.

Dude, the Rio500 probably give you more freedom moving around. That CD/MP3 player is way bigger than the Rio, and it'll probably skip if it's moved to much. Yeah, the Rio only carries a couple of hours of music (with the internal memory), but it's small and very portable.

My girlfriend bought me a Home minidisc recorder/player and a portable player(The sony bundle-6) for our anniversary....

I love it...it may take a little while longer to record, but it's sweet..no skipping, and it's easy to record mp3's to it as well....

The only mp3 player i might consider to get it the Nomad JukeBox.. http://www.nomadworld.com/products/nomad-jukebox/
