    Question

    I was one of the fools/early adopters who signed up for the Windows XP beta testing program. When I signed up, they sent me an email with the newsgroup and password for beta testers. I recieved the disc for build 2462 (which works great, for me at least) and installed it, but had to reinstall Microsoft office, at which point I lost my old emails..... so now I don't have the information they sent me. Anyone have the info to get to the newsgroup? Is the next build available for download there yet? (should be soon). thanks for any help.

    I also signed up for the testing program... but I have yet to receive any email from Microsoft or any CD for that matter... I pretty much gave up on it... and am hoping they never charge me the $29.95 it cost for the CD.

    Thanks, but yeah, no that wasn't it. Actually found out that the release of the 2nd preview beta won't be available until June for the Non-professional testers (that's me). I had actually gotten an early beta for signing up early (first 2000?),so the one I have is sort of a bonus. The real one is the one released in June...

    Man, I've got some beta version from a buddy, and a crack-hack (but I seriously would not use that) to keep it from expiring, but I haven't even installed it... He said getting drivers is hard, and I didn't want to hose my system.

    You might try calling MS. Since they got money from you they'll probably be willing to give you a new login for the newsgroups.

    I almost hate to say this but... I use to work at MS and they really want to do right by their customers from a support standpoint, especially if you've given them cashola...
