If the allegations are, in fact, true, then we've reached a new low (high?) in our morality paradox. On the one hand, we have a guy with naughty pictures of his own goddamn fiancee, a security video that shows he didn't hit her, and a DUI (a rather minor offense, along with pot smoking, as our last two elections have shown).

Whaddya think? It brings up the question: do we really expect our politicians to be better than us? I mean, by virtue of our last two Presidents, we clearly don't expect them to be more moral or intelligent than we are. Then again, the way conservatives almost pissed their pants when Clinton got caught with his cigar in the wrong orafice, you'd think there'd never been a choirboy violated (oh, did I say that?! )

Is the notion of the philosopher-king (or judge-king, or whatever the heck is considered moral) dead?
