Photos were taken in Memphis, Tennessee. It's a huuuuuuge statue of Buddha on someone's lawn (it was a corner lot). I only realized there was another interesting statue as I snapped the pics.... look at the bottom right pic, the statue, um, looks like, well, you know. (It's the angle, right?) The only way I could have *verified* is by walking onto their property.

that's something you don't see everyday i wonder if they expect donations when sightseers stop for a look.

definitely unusual. most of the lawns in that particular neighborhood only have grass, trees, and plants growing on their lawns. the statue is probably their good luck charm or maybe the landmark if they hold private religious ceremonies in their home.

i'm not sure if they knew i was snapping pics, but they probably wouldn't have liked me "investigating" that one statue.
