I currently have 1 stick of 256mb pc100 "The Edge" ram and 1 stick of 128mb pc100 pny ram. i want to buy 2 generic 512 sticks w/ pc133. now i've heard that mixing ram will degrade the rams performance. is this true and should i just take out my 256mb??
ps. i kno i should get crucial ram but i just want a quick fix. and i also kno that in the long run it will be better for me to get the crucial ram....maybe i should.
anyone seen requiem??

naw...
I've never had a problem with mixing ram and i've done it many times before. Unless your really pushing (OC'ing) it you shouldn't have a problem.

I've never had a problem mixing ram either. As long as all the modules are compatible. Mixing ram will degrade the performance if lets say. You have a PC133 Module that can run CL2 and you add a CL3 Module, both will be forced to run at CL3. Or if you put PC100 with PC133. 100 Mhz is max they will run STABLE. I would really go with the micron, or if not some other big name brand, maybe not as expensive. Kingston, Viking, they all work.
