    Thumbs up

Register for their "$1000 in Free Steaks" sweepstakes and, as a thank you, they'll send you to a link for a "Buy six Top Sirloins for $45, get six free" offer. But that's not all... When checking out, you're also offered a FREE GIFT (hot dog franks, burgers, or, yup you guessed it, more steaks). Not a bad deal for $45...

Sweet. How do they compare to the steaks in Japan? I was fortunate enough to have a generous Aunt there that fed me the best steaks I've ever eaten in my life. Nothing in states has even come close.

Omaha are considered good enough that people in japan mail order them international to be shipped there.

Best steaks in the world? Ruth's Chris Steakhouse http://www.ruthschris.com/ has to be some of the best multiple-location steakhouses around. Expect around 40-80/person for a full meal.

Best I've tasted had to be Prime Steak house in the Bellagio Las Vegas, with executive chef Kerry Simon. That ran in the range of 40-110/person. http://www.allinfo.net/jg/prime.htm

Of course, expect to spend in the upper range of that :-P

Wow, those steaks must be impressive.

The best steak I've eaten in the US is at the Oak Ridge (I think) at Silverado CC in Napa. Good stuff.

Best steaks in the world ARE in Japan, the Kobe beef. 200% more marbling than filet mingnon, and will run about $125 a steak Stateside. I had the good fortune to have one over there: melted in the mouth. They feed the cows beer, massage them daily, and put them in super small pens so that they can't move around too much and toughen. Really amazing mean, I think there's a place in Chicago and a place in New york that carries them...

I have heard that Argentine beef is some of the best in the world. Something about the Patogonian grass and the air currents from the ocean or something like that. Just a thought.

I know the cows in Japan live large until, well, they are slaughtered. They get daily fills of beer, and massages by therapists.
