    Looks good to me

    No hard drive?

    Type of memory? Crucial?
    Which monitor?
I'd use Intel network card instead of dlink. Unless the dlink nic is on hand.

Videocard: Use Radeon until you upgrade. Keep options open on what videocard you upgrade to.

i got my 60 gb wd goin into that and my ibm 10 gb will go into the comp im on now, crucial looks to be what immma go with, its stable and fast, im thinking either an illama (spl??) or some other high quality, true flat monitor, i have a dfe-530tx in my gateway and i like it alot, so i figured id get a dlink, if dlink is bad, please tell me, cause ill just get two in the process, does the radeon scale well with procesor speed, cause if it does id keep my radeon and put my tnt mach 64 in my other comp hehe

System looks good. I personally dont like the Game Theatre cause its external, but to you, that maybe a a plus. D-Link's are not bad. I have 2 D-Links NICs and they both work great.

dlink is fine. Intel nics are the best.
Yes the Radeon scales well with cpu speed.

Diamondtron Naturally flat monitors are great. Both iiyama and NEC-Mitsubishi have models.

The actual sound processing takes place in the "Big Ass Breakout" box so therefore it is safe to say that it is an external Sound Device

    Just FYI

Sounds like you'll have lots of fun with the system

You are really going all out with the specs huh?
I hope it works as well as you expect
Also take into account that DDR2 will be out either later on this year or early next year. So maybe waiting a little bit longer wouldn't kill you...

    JEDEC solidifies DDR-II specification

"JEDEC announced Monday that the industry standards body had approved the preliminary spec for the next generation DDR-II memory chip, which is expected to be in production in 2003.

A panel of 120 companies approved the spec at a recent meeting in Tokyo. JEDEC officials said initial samples of the DDR-II chip should be available in 2002, with production coming nine to 18 months later. DDR-II is expected to be lower voltage at 1.8V, with speeds up to 533MHz. The chip is also expected to be optimized as memory for both PC and handheld devices.

As part of the preliminary spec, JEDEC approved 400 and 533MHz DDR chips. Comparable DDR memory modules would carry the PC3200 nomenclature for a 3.2Gbyte/s bandwidth using the 400MHz chip, and PC4300, with a bandwidth of 4.3GBytes/s for the 533MHz chip.

JEDEC officials said the memory panel will now turn its attention to a DDR-III specification for a chip to follow in the 2004 to 2005 time period. Sources said DDR-III could be combined with the work of the Advanced DRAM Technology industry group, which includes Intel Corp. and a number of leading memory makers."
