I ran into an ex-boyfriend at our college graduation a few weeks ago. I didn't have any time to talk to him, we just said "hi" and hugged, because I was actually in route to receive my diploma. So, a few days ago I decided to drop him an email to see if he wanted to go to lunch. He said, "Sure, but it'll have to be later in the summer, cause I'm having open-heart surgery on Tuesday." GAH! He was born with some heart problems. This will be his second surgery, the first being when he was 2 years old.
I'm assuming he'll be in the hospital for a little while, and I was thinking about getting him something to pass the time a little quicker. Does anyone have any suggestions? I thought about sending flowers and/or balloons, but I think it'd make more sense to take him something to pass the time.
I'm thinking $50 is about the max I want to go on this. Also, something that I could get delivered would be a plus. The hostpital he'll be at is 100 miles away. I don't think he'll be up to visitors, so if I take him something I would just be dropping it off. However, he's worth a 200 mile round-trip drive, so I'm not ruling out the drive to deliver something myself.
Any suggestions?
