Is smartmedia dead?

I've noticed that most of the recent deals for "digital film" are compactflash. I was thinking of buying only compactflash stuff, but recently mamny digital cameras have been on clearance/refurbs that use smartmedia.

So...what do people think? Is it too risky to go with smartmedia, or will it be around for a while?
