Looks like they aren't rated very high so it is a risk to buy from them.

Also, that drive model isn't that size:

    40GV - DTLA-305040 - 41.17 GB - Ultra ATA/100 - 5400 RPM

    IBM doesn't make a 75GB 5400RPM drive....

I'll be it is a 40GB drive. That model number always confused the hell outta me. I guess it confused the data entry people at that company. IBM Deskstar 75GXP does look like it's 75gb, right? because companies usually name the models after the sizes. like WD 40Gig would be WD40BA or something.

think theyre shaftable? i.e. if you order the drive, then twist them into sending you an actual 75 gig drive for the same price?

    Thumbs down Low RPMs

Its only 5400RPMs too, which is too slow.

New IDE drives are all 7200RPMs.

That's why the drop in price for 5400RPM drives.

Looking at the Part # of this drive, this should be the IBM

Deskstar 40GV: 40GB ATA/100 5400RPM Hard Drive. If you go to IBM's web site, you would find that this part # matchs with the one at Global Micro. If this is indeed the 40GB, I could find it cheaper at pricegrabber.
