Thread: Palm Vx and Portable Keyboard for $230 after MIR (Palm and Staples)

  1. #1
Discovered this one myself and wanted to pass it along. I don't know the end date of the coupon I used, so if anyone knows and can share that Im sure people would appreciate it. Also if someone can find a way to improve the deal, that would be cool too.

Currently Staples is running a deal for the Palm Vx for $299.98 (item #394809) and get a free portable keyboard.
and add the Palm Portable Keyboard (item #430325) for another $99.98

Then use coupon 81031 to get $99.98 off for the free keyboard.

at this point you are unable to apply any other coupons or price match with anyone because of the free keyboard. BUT...

if you add any other item, say, a $.47 pen, or anything else... you can then add coupon 11101 for another $20 off.

In addition, Palm is having a deal for a $50 mail in rebate when you purchase both a palm m105, IIIc or Vx and a Palm Portable Keyboard.

Purchases between july 15th and september 30 are eligible, you also get a scientific calculator software CD that is worth a suposed additional $50 (yeah whatever)

    $299.98 Palm
    + $99.98 keyboard
    - $99.98 Staples keyboard coupon
    - $20.00 Staples 11101 coupon
    - $50.00 Palm MIR
Free Shipping on staples orders more than $50
total Price $229.98 plus your local tax.

    Sweet?

I called and asked about that...

actually I called several times, and tried several different things.

at first I tried to use the $40 off $200 coupon, and when it didnt work I called and was told by the rep that the $99.98 for the free keyboard required both the keyboard and the palm in the basket, and once used, the palm and the keyboard were ineligible for further coupons. I tried arguing and got nowhere. so I called back and tried it again with another rep and got the same story.

I then entered every coupon I could find hoping that one would work. I was about to give up when I discovered that the 11101 for $20 off worked.

I dont know why it worked either since both coupons say they cannot be combined with any other offer. I thought they might catch on and bill me a different amount after the order went through, but I got the palm today and the reciept shows both coupons.

Okay, I went for the deal... What do you think I should do with regard to the fact that I want to get the rebate for the keyboard from Palm so I must send in the UPC code, yet I also want to sell the keyboard on EBay? I'm sure I could sell the keyboard with a hole in the box, but does anyone have a more creative idea?
