    Thumbs up

credit goes to Ihatecheapbeer @ AT

    ElectronicsEmall has the Siemens 240 and 242 cordless phones @ $30 and $39 respectively. Here's a linkie

    http://st16.yahoo.com/cgi-bin/nsearc...&query=siemens

Siemens' rebate program was extended until the end of September, so it's still good. $30 rebate for those phones. Some peeps @ AT received their phones and they are in the original packaging, so all should be well.

    Siemens rebate: http://www.siemenscordless.com/promos/promos1.html

oh, and siemens has more rebates for the other models, up to $50.

Thanks, I ordered one, shipping $8.95

Well I guess $9 for an $80 phone is a good deal I'm still depressed that I couldn't find the 2410 at any Office Depot store.

Does anyone know the validity of this store? $30 is pretty cheap for this phone.

Does anyone know if either one of these phones has a headphone jack? It doesn't list it in the features so I guess not but I wanted to make sure.

  5. #5
I read on another board that neither the 240 or 242 have headphone jacks , that would be nice but for $9 (I paid $8.95 shipping) it's a great deal if the rebate comes through without any problems (damn I hate rebates).

Thanks for the deal. Just ordered the 242, $18.00 w/shipping after rebate. It was sold out yesterday, but back in stock today. Not bad since Amazon has it for $99.99 - rebate.

    Received the phone today

I thought it was a typo and I didn't expect to ever see the phone, but less than 24 hours after I ordered it, I received a factory fresh phone. I ordered white and the receipt said white but it came to me in black. The phone is adequate, far from the best that I have used and the range is not nearly as good as my other phone. For the price, it can't be beat since it really cost $9 for shipping after I get the rebate. I think I may get a 2nd phone, but this time I will get the model 242 and hope I can get a rebate for each phone.

    expired rebate slip

I went to send in my rebate slip and noticed the purchase needed to be made by June 1, so I called Siemens (spoke to someone who was like pulling teeth to get any information) The women I spoke to said they didn't update the rebate slips and she is mailing me new ones with a purchase date of September 1. If anyone orders, call Siemens at Customer Care (toll-free): 888-777-0211

  15. #15
I called the number Customer Care (toll-free): 888-777-0211
to get the new rebate form. They said Siemens no longer
offer the rebate for the 240, 242 model. SUCKS!!!.

I think I will refuse the shipment and return and eat
    the shipment cost.

    So beware!

    Question

Is the rebate still good or not? I tried calling and the people at Siemens are like duh.

  18. #18
This is from the rebate form for the 242:

Purchase the Siemens 242 Cordless Phone between July 1, 2001 and September 29, 2001, and get a $30.00 rebate by mail. Limit 1 per household. Rebate request must be postmarked by October 29, 2001.

I don't know why they would say it's not legit.

    Model 240 rebate: http://www.siemenscordless.com/cgi-b..._Sept_2001.pdf

Purchase the Siemens 240 Cordless Phone between July 1, 2001 and September 29, 2001, and get a $30.00 rebate by mail. Limit 1 per household. Rebate request must be postmarked by October 29, 2001.

If you guys look carefully on the rebate page, siemens posted two rebate forms for each model. One is already expired but the other one is good until September 29. I don't see how they would not accept these forms because they said it's good until September 29.

    Arrow

Call them, The expired coupon is posted on their website, but they will MAIL you a current coupon

Siemens mailed the rebate coupon to me.

Received my 242 a couple of weeks ago, phone has nice features, but only works out to the street (about 100 ft)
my old ATT phone would go down the block about 300 ft at least.

    Ordered 2 more

I can't see how they won't honour their rebates, I called Siemens and found them very dull to speak to, anyway they said they would send me the rebate forms. I ordered two more, I expect that I can send for a rebate for one of each model to my home and I got another for my mother. I like the phone I already received, it is not the best phone but not a bad phone either. I will check to download the links that call-in just posted.

Did you pay $18.95 for the phone? I bought one 240 and two 242 and was charged $30 and $39 each for a total of $78 for the 2nd order (less the $30 rebates), plus a heftly shipping charge of $9 for my first order and $10 for the second order. BTW, So far I only received the 240 and it was a better phone than I expected and I don't agree with the poor reviews at Amazon.

    Received it yet?

    Hi All,

I ordered the phone too. Did any body received the phone yet?
