I just bought a USB Visioneer scanner after ebaying my POS Umax Astra USB scanner. I hated that Umax scanner even though all the reviews raved over the speed and color depth, because the packaged software stank. I used to have a Visioneer before that and loved the Paperport scanning software. So I wanted to make sure that my new scanner had the Paperport software. And now I am happy again. Just letting everyone know on Scanners you WILL BE MUCH happer with your scanner if you have great software. PaperPort IMO is THE BEST.
I don't think I got this modle. Mine must have been the model before this one because mine doesn't have the buttons... oh, and mine has 42 bit color where as this one has 36 bit color. So maybe mine is the next model up. I got mine at Office Max several weeks back for $60 minus $30 rebate. Still waiting for the rebate check.

Nothing there anymore looks like clearance of the older models the new ones look cool expecially the PHOTOPORT 7700 USB FLATBED SCAN 600X12000 42BIT with built in memory card readers...
too bad the price is high and the rebates have expired.

Officemax was still selling these for $20 after rebate...and there is a $10 off $50 office depot coupon floating around that officemax WILL honor. Their website states they will honor other national office supply chain coupons. I actually used a $15 off $50 coupon so my net cost on the scanner after rebate will be $4.99. ^..^

Officemax rebate
The rebate was in the officemax august flier...you should be able to go buy and pic up however many you need although I believe it asks for an officemax receipt.
