    Question

I have an HP Pavillion 4440 with an AMD K6-2 333 processor, Voodoo3 2000 16MB pci graphics card, and 64MB of RAM. It does basically what I need well enough for me. Memory is so cheap at Crucial right now that I was thinking of getting a 128 MB stick (Max for this cheapie PC is 2 x 128). Will I see a noticable difference in performance for tasks like net surfing, playing modest games, or photo editing? I don't know whether or not with the slow processor over 64 Megs of RAM will make much of a difference. Any advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Having more ram will stop hard disk swapping. Its likely your running Win98. So yes go ahead and get more ram. I recommend 128MB or more for Win98.

    Thanks Guys,

I ordered the 128 meg stick. Amazing, 22.95 + tax and free shipping left me under $25 delivered to my door! I wonder if getting two would be worth it, or just overkill?

Bear in mind though, that some motherboards (some people say "most") aren't quite stable with all the memory banks full.

    Mine's one of them.
