Free shipping too. Opinions please! Is this a good deal?

    JVC GR-DVL100U Digital Camcorder

    (edit)
Also, any coupon ideas for getting the best price?

Also, can't find any links to specific specifications on the JVC site. Anyone know of a better site to review this camcorder's specs?

Let me know if you order that - I was looking at that one as well. Can't beat that price for MiniDV.....

Still uncomfortable since I've searched the web and can't find any detailed specifications. I did, however, find a different deal on the JVC GRDVL-915. It'll cost around $540 after rebate + shipping. Maybe this is a better deal. Why better? Because:
#1, I can find other stores selling the JVC GR-DVL100U camcorder but I can find this camcorder on JVC's web site (both good signs to me), and sold in other stores.
#2, there is a $100 rebate on the camera bringing the price to $560ish after rebate,
#3, the view finder is 3.5" instead of 2.5"
#4, USB port for digital stills, plus stills record to an included 16MB memory card instead of to tape
#5, vry low light taping. This feature isn't a big deal to me.
#6, comes with remote control (whooppie!)

    Can buy it here http://www.digitaletailer.com/shop/S...tock=GRDVL915U

    for $639 minus $100 rebate plus shipping = $560ish.

Yes, $160 more but I'm warry to buy the JVC GR-DVL100U camcorder that doesn't appear to be sold anywhere else, and that JVC doesn't have information for on their site.

I'm in the market for a digital camcorder. Any other deals/combos are appreciated.

Update... Since JVC is offering $100 off their midrange MiniDV digital camcorders, the JVC offered at Amazon above just doesn't compete IMO. For example, this seems like a better deal:

Buy the JVC GRDVL-510U here for $539 plus shipping: http://www.dbuys.com/index.cfm?fusea...id=3&sub_id=18
Plus, FWIW, dbuys has a 5 out of 5 stars on Pricewatch.

Then turn in your $100 rebate to JVC. Get the 510U for $439ish (OK, there is shipping). Also, I found this great site for anyone wanting to compare different video camera models. I found it very helpful when comparing all the JVC models. http://www.consumerdvreviews.com/camcorders/default.asp Also, some slightly better prices are available at PW but less stars.

So I am Looking/leaning towards JVC because of the $100 rebates available on the 510, 512, 517, 85, 817, and 915. The 310, 315, & 317 all have $50 rebates. That rebate form is posted on the JVC web site.

I'm seriously leaning towards the GRDVL-915U now since it in the only model in the line that has analog inputs and after rebate I'll have it for around $550. I read some customer reviews on the 510 here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...793811-8609760 Basically same camera engine but less bells/whistles than the 915. Still not pulling the trigger yet and hoping for some opinions here. Anyone have any of these JVCs? Any opinions appreciated.
