    Danny Almonte..

that little league kid...he's really 14

what actions should Little League take against him, his family, and his team???

I say strip all his record (no-hitter, etc)
    and strip 3rd place title...

That sucks if it's true. My cousin was on the team from Oceanside, that lost to them in the semifinals. They were the first team to get a hit off of him in the series, and they ended up losing 1-0. Would be a shame if it were because of a dishonest father that they lost their chance to spank Japan in the finals

If this is true than this really sucks for all the teams that lost to them. Robbed of a childhood dream because of a cheater. I wonder if he is any good agianst kids his age? They should strip all the wins but I read that they only strip the last one.

Hold on. It wasn't his idea. (ref to OP comment) It was the coaches and the parents. There was two sets of papers registered for this kid. And you can't believe that some clerk let a 14 yr old kid register a phoney set.

Yeah, punish the coach and the team will lose it's 3rd place title, but he did what they told him to do. You can't punish him.

I think removing his 'records' from LLbaseball will punish his parents more/just as much as it will punish him. It seems like it's the parents who wanted this bad...and that's why they did this..

But on the bright note for them...danny can be signed in 2 years by a major league club (min age is 16...ridiculous), and they can get loaded on that signing bonus...

But why punish him? We really don't know what that situation is. In order to keep this secret, was he abused? threatened? He is a kid and the parents took advantage of him. He has been punished enough. The parents are the ones to be punished.

    Thumbs down

It is unfortunate for everyone involved...

For Danny, he must have been told to lie about his age...

For the losing teams that played fair, they lost the opportunity to play in the LL WS.

It is AMAZING to me that adults let this happen... Fer chrissakes! these are kids that just want to play! Just because you couldn't make your athletic dreams come true doesn't mean you have to cheat to live vicariosly thru your kids!

But I wouldn't worry about Danny so much... he is eligible to be drafted in a couple of years. Did you know that the top few amateur draft picks get a signing bonus of $6 Million and up - without ever even stepping onto a pro field? My neighbor was a 1st rd draft pick and got injured so never played in the bigs...but he had all kinds of cash and doesn't have to worry for the rest of his life.
