I'm just wondering. Have other Muslims taken any steps to distance themselves from bin Laden's organization? i.e., telling other Muslims that bin Laden does not speak for Muslims?

Well saudi Arabia just cut their diplomatic contacs with the Taliban, and Pakistan is not that happy with what has happened, i am pretty sure Yassir Arafat is giddy as a school girl though

well, you're right, duh. of course they said that. and a few whackos will do as he says, and the rest of the world will shake their heads in wonder that anyone can be that distanced from reality...

lots of muslim leaders have said osama's off the deep end, except for a few key ones in organizations/countries friendly to him and the taliban... and they have either made very weakly negative statements (well, we wouldna done that, but...) or no statements at all. not many (none that i know of, actually) have said - "yeah, we with you, dude! woot!"

Did you know that Yasser Arafat is married to a Christian woman? He's not some hardcore Muslim, he would probably be considered on the mroe liberal end of the Islamic spectrum.
