Best FPS on the market right now...

I'm looking to buy a new FPS, but I don't really know which one to get. Yes, I already have Half-Life, and that is one of my favorite games. Anyways, I've been seriously considering No One Lives Forever because it's coming out with a Game of the Year Edition and it's apparently got a great single-player mode, which I really like.

What about Red Faction, I haven't played it myself but my friend said it was really fun.

No one lives forever was all that bad but it just doesn't have that lasting appeal. You play it then wonder what else there is to do. Flashpoint is rather cool nice weapons to use in that game. I haven't see Red Faction at all but a buddy of mine swears it the cooles game but then again he thinks Frogger 2 is gods gift to gaming so there is some doubt as to whether he knows what he is talking about. Bottom line Flashpoint would be my first choice.

Max Payne is a great game but its short as h3ll.

Red Faction: Overall, the reviews say that the Geo-Mod technology {fully destructible environments} is underutilized but that the vehicles add to the game. They conclude by saying Red Faction may not be original but it is a fun shooter with a good story that is worth buying.

Max Payne would be the BEST FPS out on the market right now. Yes, it's a bit short, but the story line is AWESOME, the graphics are AWESOME, the gameplay is AWESOME. Red Faction on the other hand seems pretty crappy to me. That's just my opinion.

I have played Red Faction and so far i have not really been impressed at all .. sure blowing up stuff and shooting thru walls is nice ... and it Is underutilized indeed ..

but this game is just a HalfLife knock off with some improved gfx .. nothing new to it ...

Max Payne on the other hand is totaly innovating .. but short in a way ...

I'd say Commandos2 is a better choice if u want to have "lengty" fun ... but its not really a fps ... So if u got money to spend .. pick up Max Payne indeed ...

If your going to play with freinds or just like some good killin' action, you can't go wrong with Unreal Turny. It's my favorite FPS.

That might be true, except that Max Payne is not a FPS. It is actually a third-person-shooter game.

Ya ya, still the best game . I actually have a friend who is an FPS freak and hates 3rd person games. LOVED Max Payne.

actually coleslaw had a very good point there ...

its not a first person shooter .. good call

but i guess most people mistake it for one ... not a lot of decent 3rd person shooters worth mentioning anyhow

good to hear that they ARE indeed working (or trying to anyhow) on bringing Max Payne to the online gaming comunity ...Wonder how it'll look .. and play
