Corning Glass works
I was there today-very cool place..there were 3 guys doing an actual HOT GLASS demonstration in which they made a glass vase..it was cool. the one older guy spoke FLUENT japanese and translated the entire thing for the japanese visitors that were there..then we stopped at the Newtown Battlefield outside of elmira to check out the historical stuff..and I SAW A COMPLETELY BLACK SQUIRREL! I took a picture of it and hope it turns out..it was soooo cool looking...
Then I headed into Elmira to visit my old nursing school *sob*..brings back old memories

When I was younger I was told that black squirrels were only on the Princeton campus near my house. Then I got to the Md campus and found a bunch of black squirrels. They are really neat to look at though. I want to swing by the Corning factory. I have heard it was pretty cool. I am heading up to Ithaca in a couple of weeks and I may try going there as well.

Make sure when you go to corning you plan on spending ALOT of time in the museum (upstairs)-You can actually miss it if you don't ask how to get there..its like through all these glass doors and around corners and up ramps..I love ithaca-nothing like a drive through college town to make a person feel old-but then you go to the commons and drop alot of dough on artsy fartsy crap you'll never use..ahhhh..life as we know it.
o yeh..btw-there is ALOT of fall festival type thingy's going on towards Corning/Bath/Horseheads in October..and since the leaves are starting to turn up there already it should be a pretty nice drive.
