There are like hundreds or thousands of Green Lanterns. It's supposed to be some sort of inter-galactic police force. I think the black Green Lantern appeard sometime in the mid 1980's. Sorry, I don't remember his name. I didn't remember Hal's name untill you mentioned it.Originally posted by DarkFury
They got a BLACK version Green Lantern!!!!
(I guess I can assume that is NOT Hal Jordan huh? It must be his brother Micheal! LOL)

John Stewart, who later lost his ring when Hal Jordan went mad. He then went on to lead the other guardian type group, the Darkstars. He did accidently destroy a solor system once, but, anyone can make a mistake.

John WAS in fact a GL assigned to earth, I believe. Then he married some alien hottie and joined her or something, I dont' member.Originally posted by DarkFury
I'm familiar with the fact that there are other "Green Lanterns" in the GL Corps (of many different "alien" species)... however... in the ORIGINAL JLA, Hal Jordan was the Green Lantern assigned to "Earth"....
He fought many a battle against Sinestro, the "Yellow Lantern" (heh) in the original JLA vs Legion of Doom TV series...
However, I ain't mad at em for bringin' the Bruh-man to Earth to protect the planet... LOL
Anyways... so John Stewart destroyed a solar system huh? Dayuuuuummmm!!!! How da hell did he do that...? Must've been one hell of a blast.
Um, the planet thing...he was trying to stop some kind of bomb, got real cocky, and ended up setting it off, wiping out a solor system, if I remember correctly. He also was paralyzed for awhile.
I don't think JLA puriest are upset that GL is John stewart, it's that most either really love Hal Jordan - and hated how we went all insane, killing everyone, or they are newer readers that really like Kyle. Not to mention, Kyle was actually in the Superman cartoon. Me, I dig on John, and it's all good.

Man, blowing up a whole solar system must be hard to live down, imagine all the crap you would get at the superhero cocktail parties and such.

"Shuadup!"
*bump*
The premiere is on November 17th..... can't remember what time.. but it's sometime in the evening...
can't wait...
