I think your out of luck here. As far I know funny money is confiscated by the secret service and the place where you recieved it is not required to replace it.
Well actually, my folks once got funny money from their bank. So uhhh yeah, they got it replaced.

yea, i've always wondered about this. i mean when i buy stuff and they use that magic marker or whatever to check my 20's, 50's, and benjanmins! i'm scared if one is conterfeit....then what do they do. do they give it back to me, or am i out of that money. it wasn't my fault, why am i out one bill. i say the SS should repay me if they confiscate it.

If you attempt to use a bogus bill, they will confiscate it & do their best to find out where it came from. Unfortunately, at this point the money is gone & you're outta luck. Unless you made yourself a few hundred bucks on a color copier, in which case you're REALLY out of luck if you get busted.

if a person can prove they didnt make it or vave no connection to the maker, then we would get it as a tax writeoff. either that, or just leave the damn stuff in circulation.
maybe thy should start selling "phoney money" insurance... $2 a month, replace up to $500/yr. The ins. companies would make a fortune
I lost about $100 on nothing. Learning how to play craps will do that to you.
Along that line, I think a G|A GTG would be paramount at this point. We just need to decide when and where.

The teller at the bank explained it to me.. he said that because stores give it back it gets passed around more and more, until it gets to the bank and even then it sometimes goes undetected and then goes out to the public

Uhhh I certainly hope the stores don't give it back to you because then they are breaking the law also. All counterfeit notes are suppose to be conficated and turned over to the secret service not given back so someone can try to use it some where else.
well all this is the reason I try to never use cash, check card is the way to go!!!...
Cash is just such a pain now and always being worried that it is fake
