Highly doubtful that this will doing anything. Cingular is doing what they can do expand their network as quickly as their resources will allow them. Do you think they like irate customers tying up their customer service people? I am not partial to Cingular myself. AT&T has always been good to me. But they do have their issues as well. No wireless provider is 100% sound. This is especially in an area such as Los Angeles.

AS far as I know, cingular is horrible here at UCLA. People can get recetion sometimes but then just can't get a line. How much does that suck! I don't have a cell phone b/c I don't like them and don't believe in them, but for people who like them, I'd be pissed too.

You think CIngular sucks now? Just wait until VoiceStream is piggybacked off their network in Los Angeles. Just imagine how many 'system busys' you'll be hearing then. Of course this strategic alliance won't take place until VoiceStream comes into the LA market which should be eith Q2 or Q3 2002.

This month I have gotten the worst service from Cingular that I have had since I got with them in May. I called up their customer service and asked for a credit to my bill because I was not able to dial out. My phone kept saying "no service" for an hour. This was like the 4th time this month that this had happened. I nicely complained to the rep and he said he could credit me for $10 off my bill. So my advice is to complain if your service is out. I'm going to every time it does now.

Anyways, I have a friend who works for Cingular, and he was telling me that due to the unlimited nights and weekends/mobile-to-mobile and other similar promotions, Cingular has been stuck in a hole in terms of profits...and they are currently unable to fund for any major upgrades and buildouts. They are in so much trouble, they have to resort to other tactics to raise profits (the 31 second ring rule, for example)


If you noticed, many other wireless providers are rolling back night and weekend/mobile-to-mobile times, as well as some other stuff, in an effort to salvage profits. The wireless industry in the US is overly-competitive and profits are just hurting for the majority of companies.

well so far so good for me with them, I have had sooooo many problems with AT&T and none with Cingular
