    window tint question

    hey whatsup everybody?
I'm planning on getting my windows tinted, amid all the california restrictions... i drive an black integra, so an integra with front window tint is just eye candy for cops... call me stupid for gettin the tinting.... how would 40% front and 30% back be?

has anybody had any police confrontation due to driver/passenger side window tints?

    thanks..
    it wasnt me.......

Personally (and this is just me), I don't like the way it looks with 2 different shades of tint. I have a medium titanium (Sunpro) front and back with a LIGHT (practically clear) on the front windshield.

I've never been pulled over for this, eventhough it does appear pretty dark. It appears dark because my car is black, has a black interior, and the interior space is TINY (MR2 turbo, 2 seater). Cars with larger interiors or lighter colored interiors make the tint look lighter.

The reason for the clear front is it really REALLY cuts down on heat and does a great job of protecting your dash, console, steering wheel, seats, etc. The practical problem with doing this is the front windshield is dual layered (your integra is as well). So, they have to be extremely skilled installers and they must use low heat. Also, any spec of dust will show up and annoy the heck out of you, since you're always staring into it. So, if you go this route, make sure you go get it done at a quality place.

Cops have said my front tint is to dark, but I have yet got sited for it ( knock on wood ) ( one time the cop asked me is I would "take careof it" and of couse I said I would

i would think twice about getting your windows tinted, especially in cali. tinting your windows only makes it easier for people to break into the car cause the tint muffles the sound of the window breaking. but if you are still insistent on it, you really need to be careful. i had a friend who got pulled over and got a fix it ticket for his tinted front windows. his rears were pretty dark, but the fronts were hardly noticable. but it totally depends on where in cali and what time of the month it is i suppose.
