just bring your cat5 and your r45's to radio shack..they will do it for you..just make sure you test the cables before you leave to make sure they work.

well-they do in my area anyway..but check non the less before you go there with cables in hand..crimpers/wirecutters/etc arent THAT expensive..maybe you should put them on your christmas list..also a multimeter...and various other geeky tools..I know lowes has alot of that stuff pretty cheap.

pervert? I don't know what you're getting at... I built my house with a networking hub but need to make little cables from my switch to my hub. I have about 500 feet of cable that I used to run around my condo. Now I want to break it up and make some 3-5 foot ones

    BUY THEM!!!

Don't make your own cable unless you're making a weird length or you can't avoid it (like a bare wire sticking out of the wall that needs a plug on it).

You can pick up 3-5ft patch cables anywhere, and the machine made ones are much more reliable and faster than hand made ones, unless you're really good at it. The tolerances of CAT5 are extremely picky, and a bad crimp or too much untwisted wire can drop you down to a 10Mbps connection like that *snaps fingers*.

It'll cost a little more than using the wire you already have, but it will be worth it in terms of your network's reliability.

If someone were to call my home and ask for Grimm, they would get me right away. All my friends know that I am Grimm, about 2/3 knew me as Grimm before they knew my real name.
So why would I need brainsmile's real name? You mean people don't know you by your username??? Weird.
