some of the ATI like the VE which I have about $80.00
has 3 output one for analog, DVI and S video output.
fairly decent quality, not sure about playing games on it.

the Matrox has to analog output but comes with an adapter that can ouput S video output. My friend has this one, about $90.00
for gaming I don't know what ur prefernece is.

but when we play CS with this 2 card I could tell a freaken diffrenece, beside it look a hell alot better than my old tnt2 without DDR.

Are you looking for VIVO or just TV out?

Cuz I've seen a lot of cards with TV out, but there seems to be a lot less with VIVO... there are a couple of GeForces that come with VIVO, but I'm not sure which GPU they have...

I just ordered a 64 meg ddr radeon with vivo, but I don't think that would be much of an upgrade from a GeForce 2...

You might have to look into some of the higher end cards, like the ATI 8500dv (All In Wonder)...

I'm sure there have to be atleast a few GeForce 3's with VIVO, although they would be a little out of my price range so I didn't look that hard...

Asus and Gainward make Geforce cards with Vivo. ATI has better Vivo though.

Will this be a gaming card roboo7? If so, what type of performance do you want? What type of price range are you looking at?

ATI's 8500DV (All In Wonder) won't be out for a while. Even then it will be expensive. $399 MSRP.

Radeon 7500. About $150 online. Performs well and ATI has good tv output.

Buy.com is selling the ATI Radeon DDR VIVO w/ 64MB for ~$98 + s/h after rebate and coupon if you're still interested.

No, the one from buy.com is from the previous generation. I believe the one recommended by sbp is from the current ATI generation which would explain why it's a bit more expensive. If you wanted to know the technical differences between the two, check out the first page of AnandTech's ATI Radeon 8500 review.

If you can afford the extra $50 or don't want to wait for the rebate, I'd probably go for the sbp's suggestion.

You can get the exact same price from Newegg.com, and the shipping might be cheaper...

grrr... if they only had a $30 off of 150 right now..

oh, and they are not on backorder at Newegg.com. I just got mine yesterday!

I put off getting that card at newegg.com yesterday, and when I checked this morning, it's now out of stock. Hope I get an "auto-notify" from them before the rebate expires (tomorrow).

EDIT: Their site went down for maintenance, and now the card is back in stock. Order placed...

    Question

But is that rebate good only from buying that videocard from buycomp or everywhere? The rebate form doesn't say.

The rebate is through Ati itself. Only a few websites have actually posted it though. Buy.com and Outpost.com are the only ones I've seen. The rebate itself says nothing about the retailers themselves, only that the cards have to be the retail version. Also, the rebate is good for up to 2 orders per address, so in theory, you could buy 2 Radeon 64 meg DDR vivo's for around $300 and get $100 back in rebates.

The rebate is also good for Radeon VE (I think, maybe LE), or All In Wonder Rage Fury Pro, or Radeon 64 meg DDR VIVO. But the rebates are $20, $30, and $50 off respectively.

Why would it? Ati seems to be having some driver issues with newer software like WinXP, but I don't think hardware compatability has ever been an issue.
