First to reply gets it. From computergeeks.com

    Its the $99 MP3/CD player
To purchase the player that you reserved, visit http://www.compgeeks.com/cgi-bin/det...a&sku=205-3333

and click 'Add 205-3333 To My Shopping Cart'

Next you will see a message that says 'Item Successfully Added . . . Continue Shopping!'

Click SHOP to add other items to your cart or 'Checkout' to complete your purchase.

You will have a chance to review shipping methods and pricing at this time.

If you have never purchased from Computer Geeks before, you will need to create an account by filling in the requested information (name, address, payment method, etc.)

On the final page of the checkout form (called 'COMPUTE INVOICE') there is a red box that reads 'If you have a gift certificate or promotion code, enter it here.'
Enter your reservation code in the field to the left of this box and click 'CONTINUE'. Your code will allow you to purchase one player at $99.

Wow if anyone else has a spair one that don't need, I sure would be thankful if you could pass it my way. I've been trying to get one for a really long time, and now they even took it off their web page. Well, thanks in advance. I'm not trying to break in line TI Master.

I don't quite get this...if you use the reserve code, you get the MP3 player for $99? However, doesn't it cost $99 already? when I visit the page, I can add the MP3 player for $99...

It lets you put it in your cart, but you need a reservation number to complete the transaction. If you try to go all the way through the process, it will not let you pass the last step.
I am still looking for a reservation number if some one has an extra to spare, It would be a nice touch for fathers day.

These are *exactly* the same players as the ones from Easybuy 2000, right? Wanted to verify before I offer to give up my code...

I finally got my Easybuy 2000 MP3 player Friday and love it-- so I may have an extra Compugeeks code as well...

    Question

Could someone who has one of these fill me in on exactly how the navigation scheme for these players works? I have burned all of my mp3 cd's as follows: Each full album has it's own directory which contains all the songs and a playlist for the album.

How do I navigate directories on the player? Can it access playlists? Or does it simply dump all the tracks into one big playlist the player has and you simply scroll through them using the "seek" buttons....

Any info would be appreciated. Just hesitant to buy something that won't jive with the cd's I've already burned. Thanks!

Well, I dunno if anyone quite knows how they work.

But basically, if you have everything burned in directories on 74 min/650mb blanks (SOME brands of 80 min/700mb blanks will work, but most won't-- based on my informal testing-- it quits playing after the 650th mb, roughly) it'll play fine.

You can make it skip between directories (it seems to play the directories in alphabetical order, but then the files inside the directories seem to be in order-of-writing?? someone correct me) with one of the play modes but I haven't quite gotten that one figured out yet.

I usually just put mine on random mode.... not sure how your playlists will affect the disc... of course, with how cheap CDR's are right now, reburning isn't too big of a hassle (Except time-wise)...

So does it display a directory name? or anything along those lines? Or do you simply skip to next directory listen to the first song there, and then skip on if neccesary?

Oh and was it decided whether the Genica (Compgeeks one) and the other from the easybuy2000 place?
    Thanks.

Whoops...that second little paragraph there was supposed to be asking if the 2 models were the same or not.

Stupid little paragraph. You shall now have to be punished. For every question left out I shall kill you.

If you burn MP3 Cds for use with this player, they must be burned using the ISO format (8.3 Mode 1) if any of the songs are in Joliet(64 char) it will only play around 75 songs off the disc. Took me about 5 coasters to figure this one out.

I'm waiting to hear what the deal with the remote jack is... (the only difference I can see)

There is no alphanumeric display for the directories-- just a very standard CD display (time elapsed + track)

I have had no problems with the Joliet CDs I've burned using Easy CD Creator 4 playing all tracks on the disc-- *BUT* it seems to have problems with discs burned with Easy CD Creator 3.5. I have some discs burned in ECDC 3.5 (on another machine, but with the same type of burner as mine [Ricoh 6200S]) and some in 4.02c-- it plays the 4.02 Joliet discs fine and the 3.5 discs will only play to track 77. They are the same otherwise (single session, mode 1, etc). Justin: are you using ECDC 3.5 or another program?

Some 80 minute discs work in it, but most don't-- it will display tracks and times for the track over the 650mb limit but won't play. PNY discs seem to work ok, though...

(I will get this message right eventually!
