Staples cordless mouse/keyboard - any luck?

So I ordered the Logitech cordless mouse and keyboard off the deal page, along with all the other included goodies 2 days ago. E-mail confirmation came today saying they dropped the pens, paper, post-its. The mouse and keyboard are special order and 2 weeks away. I am wondering if the rebate will work since I won't get a receipt until they ship. The rebate offer is from April 2 till April 8. Hmmm. I'll make some phone calls tomorrow.

I was told the keyboard was sold out, and I should try and reorder or backorder...same question, does the rebate still apply? Anyone have an idea how to backorder?

got mine yesterday - signed sealed and delivered. Unfortunatly they were out of the blue pens - i was devistated Have yet to try out the keyboard/mouse yet as my sound is acting all funky so i've been tryin to get that fixed for like the last 20 hours - ARGH.

Did anyone get the "All purpose black attache case" coupon to work? I ordered a 250mb zip drive for $130 and got some free pen & paper but sadly enough, the search for the case showed up empty. And the free backpack coupon from a few days back didn't work. Ah well, next time I guess..

I got my keyboard and mouse in seperate shipments yesterday and the day before. On the receipts they only give the shipping date. The order date is nowhere to be found. Good luck.

So here is exactly what the Staples E-mail confirmation said:
We are very sorry, but the following items must be "special ordered"
from the main warehouse by our Delivery Coordinator, and may take up to
two weeks to arrive.

So I get home from work and guess what? Yessir, the cordless keyboard and mouse have been delivered! No receipt though. I call Staples and they are going to fax me a receipt tomorrow so I can do the rebate. The free briefcase should get here on Monday, the pens, paper, and post-its did get dropped. And.....
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but due to an
unforeseen system error, we were unable to process your Staples.com
order in time for next day delivery. For the inconvenience, we have
deducted $10 from your order total.

They took off an additional $10! So instead of a charge of $70.72, its $59.92 minus $40 rebate equals $19.92! Go figure...

Just when I think one of these deals aren't going to work, they come through. I am a believer!!

I got my keyboard and box of pens yesterday. The mouse they are getting from another store and I should have in a couple of days at the most. They put all the coupons on that and so I paid $3.20 for the keyboard and mouse. I will get the $40 rebate in awhile. The rest of my order (the attache case and pens and post its) should be coming from the special order someplace or another and will be here in awhile. ?? Oh well...I LOVE the keyboard and can't wait to get the mouse! Thanks all!

Well i finally got my staples rebate for the cordless keyboard resolved. If you look on the rebate for that was on staples web-page, you will notice that it does not say that you have to send any proof of purchase for the cordless mouse. So

$59 for cordless keyboard
$0 for not buying cordless mouse
-$20 w/ staples coupon code
-$10 for not being able to ship next day
-$40 for mail in rebate

Grand total...... -$11 + tax
This was a great deal!

Just let you all know about proof of purchase for the mouse, they do need proof. I just got my rebate check and they will send you an email later on for proof.

Not so, true I have check in hand, I got a postcard saying that they needed proof. After 5 phone calls and faxing my rebate form to staples I got the green light.
