Yes. I'm also tired of people conversing about stuff that is not openly public in nature. Siblings and significant others referring to inside jokes or things that have happened that only they would know about. 99% of us do not know what you are talking about and do not really care.

    Sorry, just venting.

you'd be amazed at the amount of inside jokes obtained just from the threads alone (and not from person to person interaction)...i mean some stuff i get lost in and i just say f*** it..but other stuff (when i know whats up) i laugh..

If a point can't be made in an intelligent manner I usually ignore it. Not bad grammar per se, but trying to be cute (like eye instead of I) and using the wrong words (see my other rants on this topic) will more than likely make me skip a post.

    grammar, not grammer

jeez, i'd feel awful if ppl were saying this about me. i know, you can all say, "not to be mean, but..." and "don't take this the wrong way, but..." if you have to have those disclaimers, it's still rude. the point has been made so let's not add any more to the thread. no reason to whip a dead horse.

and it still doesn't bother me.

so, if you must rip someone a new one, let's change lanes and y'all can do it to me:

my list of "spell it like i pronounce it" misspellings, which i use to make sure y'all hear my cracker accent when reading my posts:

    y'all
    git
    sheeit
dayumn (sounds totally differnt from DF's dayumn)
    differnt
ignernt (dunno if i've ever used that one, but i reserve the right, dammit)... which leads me to...
    dammit
minnit (yes, it DOES sound differnt from minute)
    ain't
    dint
    probly
    imma
    dunno
    gonna
    hafta
    coulda/shoulda/woulda
    couldna/shouldna/wouldna
    ing = in
    scuse
    zackly
    spensive
    shrimps or shreeimps
    mens
and all manner of "to be" bastardizations

then there's the shorthand stuff: brb, ppl, imho, lol, rotflmao, ttyl, ty, wb, wtg, wtf, k... i think i learned every one of those from mojo, so blame him if you don't like it...

and the soft-core lamer-1337 stuff: w00t, which led me to d00d and st00pid...

    i won't apologize and i won't stop!!!!!!!

welfare, I believe all of the instances you brought up are slang or jargon. I don't believe anyone has a problem with those types of words.

I just realized something...Since Carnivore is going to be monitoring the Internet, it may be beneficial to purposely misspell words and phrases... like Nashonal Rifel Assoshiashun........

It's the snooping software that the FBI (or some other agency) wants to require all ISPs to install.

geez, wouldn't that be some kind of invasion of privacy? I doubt that it'll work, that's like putting cameras in everyone's home.

Yes it is, but Congress legislated and the Prez signed into law that we have no more legal right to privacy from the gubbermint. The press started a panic about terrorists and the politicians took advantage of it to take away our freedoms. A resounding victory for the Talliban.
