    All Region DVD Players?

    Hey Yall,
I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on me purchasing an ALL region dvd player. I want to get some titles on dvd but they seem to only be in other region codes. (i.e. battle royale, hardboiled(DD edition)

I really wanted to buy the new silver Sony dvd player.. but I'm assuming that doesn't have all region capabilities.

    You guys got any ideas?

The Sony Model that I want is the Sony DVP-NS700P. It DOES NOT have all region capabilities.

Now my question is if anyone knows how to "mod" this particular Player.. or if anyone know's of a place that sells mod's for this exact player...

    THanks

Modding DVD players is highly illegal.

You can buy a multiple region dvd player (2,3;3,4;1,4; etc.) but if you want a all region player, it will cost you. They run approx. 2,000 + and need to look around on manufactors website. If they don't have it on there (which i wouldn't doubt) you would have to call Sony (or other company) and try to buy one off them, but they are a rare commodity.

I don't see how modifying a DVD player that you legally own is illegal. Just like it's not illegal to modify your car, your Playstation, your computer, etc. Is there something in the law that specifically states DVD players?

And it won't cost you that much to buy one either. You can get a very decent quality one for under $200.

Here's the model I want(Sony DVP-NS700P). Found a pretty good deal on it too i THINK. Can anyone top that price? $230

If only i could get that modded.

Now here's a regular Sony DVPNS400D DVD Player that's been modded by the website company. I think this player is about $200 less w/out the mod. Seems kinda pricey just to get it modded like that. $390

I just want the Sony DVP-NS700P cuz it's silver!!! The options seem about the same as the DVPNS400D. Anyone know the difference?

If you culd find the parts online to modify it yourself it isn't very difficult to do.

Doesn't the DMCA have something in it about not being able to bypass blockage systems (copy, region, etc..).

My roommate has a zone-free DVD drive for his computer. Why is it so hard to get one for the home theater system? Just wondering.

I think making the dvd-rom all region is a software crack... Not too sure though. I remember hearing something about that awhile back.

(I want to see battle royale dammit)
