I am installing it now. I ordered the Intel before I realized the 3Com was on another link. Oh well, I think my parents could use a 3COM cam!

Also got my REX-3 from Amazon for $18.88 shipped. Man is that thing cool!

    Question

Did you sign-up 3 months ago or the one last week?

I hope I got mine today... I went for 3 day delivery. I signed up over a month ago and got the order confirmation last week.

I signed up 3 months ago, but it never asked me for any cc info or anything so I thought it was a wash. Then when the latest program came around and it asked you to sign in it knew my email address right away, compared to many of the new people were turned away saying invalid email.

BTW, I can't get the digimarc recognition stuff to work at all??

LOC, did you order the Intel or the 3COM? I would be interested to hear if anybody got the 3COM web cam. It rated very high.

ok, so how many of you people have a subscription to wired magazine?? this is where i originally saw the deal (it was an ad in the back). the catch with this deal is that you have to use it in correlation to the digimarc service - you hold a page of wired magazine up to the camera and a relevant web page will show up in your browser. also, there are monthly surverys that must be completed in regards to the digimark service.

That's interesting. What happens if you don't do it?

I subscribe to Wired but I don't think they have my email address (I know, I know, they have evvvverything). I never pre-signed up for anything... I haven't gotten my camera yet but I ordered cheapest shipping and there is a permanent $12 charge from Digimarc on my CC.. (it was a temporary authorization for a few days and went permanent over the weekend)...

    So here's hoping!!

If they charged it you are getting one, and man are they nice. I really think the quality of color depth and crispness is good.

    Red face

I called up the Digimarc Support Line (1-877-477-9992) and spoke with a representative who said that "although he couldn't find the info for my order (regardless of the confirmational email i received from them on thursday when i ordered this), that he would call me with tracking info as soon as he and his manager found it".

Well, whatever that means, I don't know. Maybe he wasn't allowed to tell me that I wasn't going to receive the camera, or something... but my outlook on this isn't too hot.

*ps* I ordered this 2 day UPS shipping, and was charged on Friday, and as far as I know, UPS ships/delivers on Saturdays, so i should IN THEORY have it here today, if not by yesterday... *shrug*

The shipping came out of Texas I think. I already recycled the box, but I remember thinking that it was strange not to come out of California or something like that.

I was not part of the original deal from a month ago, but when I ordered this time, it said order processed. I decided to give them a call just now, and they said the camera is on the way, but they will investigate further and hopefully get me a tracking number with UPS. I'll post an outcome.
