    black friday shopping is gay

Well... I woke up at 6:30 this morning, and hopefully get something nice from BB... Got there around 7:10, there were already cars packed in the parking lot. Fortunate enought to find a spot, went in... Er... I have never seen BB with that many people here... 1/2 of the people has a 25' TV on their carts. I dun care... I just want Vid card and HD... Hard enough to find, it is located at the CDR section. Even worse they have everything but that 2 (expectable). I can't find the DVDs, can't find the 110 PNY CDR. Done all these within 15mins inside BB. Goto CC which is pretty close to BB. Everything sucks there, and still it is packed... Drive all the way back to CompUSA, nothing special, just pick up a 50pack PNY 16X CDR free after rebate (cant go home empty handed) even tho I have 300 left. Staples - sux as well... I hate black friday... I am going to sleep...

So... Can anyone explain to me why the phrase "X is gay" is used to indicate that something is bad or negative? I've always thought that it's the other way around, since gay == happy, no?

I think we'll use the same reason that was used in the thread about the frat dressing up as black guys. It's a cultural thing, you just wouldn't understand

    "Again"?

Well, ex-cuuuuse me for not noticing that you got flamed royally for a similar thing before. Feh.

Maybe it's time you realize that not everyone here grew up in North America, and is familiar with every disparaging colloquail remark.

I prefer to be hetero-sexual, since gay usually have to deal with all the discrimination... therefore NOT SO HAPPY!
    Hetero-sexual HAPPIER> homo-sexual = NOT HAPPY..

    let's try this again: BUMP.

I went to BB at 11am and everything good was gone. They had some deals left, but no WD 60GB HD. Oh well. I never shop on black friday and I probably never will again. Now I just gotta find a good, big, and cheap HD for my dad.

I just went to best buy at like 3:30 and they still had a ****load of stuff left. I guess no one really raided the stores nearby. Mall wasn't that full either. Didn't see anything worth buying though.

yeah, the sale ended at noon I thought, so all the good stuff was gone or back at regular price I bet. everyone went home to sleep after waking up to shop at some ungodly hour of the morning.

    Black Friday: Just Say No!

I for one am doing what I did last year - ordering everything online. Usually better prices, no crowds, no getting frustrated trying to find a parking spot - why go out?

Words can have different meanings. Over time, words can be redefined and also gain additional meanings.

    Wow.

All this time I thought it was called Black Friday because of all the sheep who get in line before dawn to blow their money.

Maybe because the "Good" deals were over @ 12pm and they restocked for normal pricing.
