XP + CD Burner = No Worky

Hey all, since I got Windows XP Pro, I can't get my HP burner to work. It seems like when my various CD software tries to detect the drives, it freezes up and won't work. Any ideas on how to solve the problem?

What burning software are you using?

In addition to spigidygak's question, what is the model of your HP burner?

I ask because you may need to go to HP.com's driver/firmware upgrade section for that particular compliancy with XP.

I tried a bunch of different ones, NERO, EZ CD, etc.

    It's an HP 7200.

dude...i really don't know...I burned my first CD yesterday with the program that came with XP...I've tried to use nero...but didn't work. So how you burn is to slip a CD in and click the CD-R drive and drag things into the window. I really don't like this way because I have no idea what speed I'm burning at and don't know if XP is using a buffer. I have a 24x cd-rw and it burned a 687 meg file in 6 minutes...when with a 24x it should have done it in 3 to 3 1/2 minutes! I really need to figure out how to get this working!!!

    I did find this:

However, I think I might be more confused now! I guess I'll download their recording software when I get home.

do a search on google to see if you can find "forceaspi" cause most of the programs you listed need a new aspi for XP...

then install that and then maybe it'll work for you...
