    linksys befsr router question

my ghetto hack ISp uses a linksys router to split up the T1 in my building. Unfortunately, they wont reposnd to my emails, so when i ask them to open up a port for port forwarding, so that i can use Aol instant messenger file transfer, they dont respond. So
I figured out that it is a linksys router they use. does anyone know of a way to get it to forward my port for me, or to crack the password on the router? Spank you very musch

Start your web browser. Enter the default address 192.168.1.1
I think the default password is "admin" with no user name.
If they have changed it you might have to brute force it, good luck.
Go to the Linksys home page and find out all you can about the router. You might be able to use an existing open port.

yeah, i hope i dont have to go with the 'brute force'. i already tried admin plus a few other common ones, but i guess they have tried it. If there is some way to get that port opened, i'm sure that some one somewhere knows
    thanks

if you have physical access to the router, you can manually reset it (evreything is totally ereased and it goes back to "admin" password. As long as you know what the settings are to change back to you should be fine.

If it turns out that admin doesn't work. Just turn it off and reset. It should be the default

Just find out where the router is, and when no one is looking reset it and then change whatever you need to.

i'd probably **** my whole apartment building, since i'd guess that we have a static IP, plus a whole host of other settings i don't know. If i reset it then all the settings would be lost, and i'd probably lose all access. Oh well. I'll keep hounding their asses for that port
