    need help with HPT Raid 370 and SAVING HD's

    Hey guys, i need some MAJOR help.
    I replaced my VP6 with an Iwill DVD266. i had 2 ibm 60Gb Deskstars on raid 9 with the vp6. Now i want to transfer that raid configuration onto my Iwill. I plugged in the HD's in my IWill and booted up. The first time, i was able to see the raid and go into it and view and access the files. That was before any drivers other than mobo was installed. Then, i added a Visiontek gf3, sounblaster live 5.1, and an NIC. After all this was installed, i tried to access my raid and it couldn't. I am running win 2k and the 2 raid hd's only have Data on them, not bootable. Seeing that there was a problem, i went into administrative tools and saw that there were 3 disks.
    0=bootable hd
    1=raid array(114GB)
    2=unallocated space(57gb) and it was dynamic when i saw it, my friend changed it to basic.

    so this is my problem. My friend was messing around and he maid a 7mb partition on the unallocated space. THen he del\eted the partition. I know the computer is seeing the raid drive and on of the raid drives as a seperate drive. I NEED the data on this array. If you can't think of anyway for me to fix it, is there a service anywhere that can?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Sorry man - you just may be screwed. Hopefully you have a backup somewhere?

    Anyway, your first step should be to contact the company that made the RAID card. Tell them your situation & see if they can help you recover. If they can't, there ARE data recovery services available, but they're not cheap - usually about a grand just to get started.

    Good luck!
