Norton AV 2002 and Outlook 2002
Whenever email viruses protection is enabled in nav 2002, i can't check my email in outlook. The servers just timeout. I disabled email scanning and it works like a charm. Has anyone else had this problem? How could i fix this b/c I really want my email to be scanned.
What version of Outlook are you using? I'm using Outlook 2002 and have installed Norton SystemWorks 2002 Professional. I've got e-mail scanning turned on and it works.
If you look at your Email Scanning options, on the bottom of the window there are two options under 'What to do when scanning Email'. I've got 'Protect against timeouts when scanning Email (recommended)' chosen. I do have a cable modem, so checking e-mail is fast. Maybe this will help you.
